Practice Makes Perfect

If your loved one has asked you to use pronouns that affirm their gender identity, practicing can help! Try these creative tips for practicing.

  • Try a role play that will help you understand what it feels like to be misgendered.
  • Write a story about your loved one using their affirmed name and pronouns.
  • Make a gender jar and put $1 in the jar every time you make a mistake.

Giving Tuesday is Tomorrow!

Tuesday, December 3rd is Giving Tuesdaythe largest day of global online charitable giving!

For over five decades, PFLAG has been leading with love and advocating for just laws for LGBTQ+ people and families. We will continue to fight for legislation that ensures everyone has the freedom to thrive—and we will fight to block efforts intended to harm our loved ones, neighbors, colleagues, and communities.

Please remember PFLAG National in your Giving Tuesday plans this year and give toward our goal of $25,000 for LGBTQ+ people and their families.

Understanding U.S. v. Skrmetti

This Wednesday, December 4, the Supreme Court will hear a landmark case, U.S. v. Skrmetti, that will decide whether laws banning gender affirming hormone therapy for transgender youth violates the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution.

PFLAG Connects: Communities December Meetings

PFLAG Connects: Communities (PCC) provide a safe, virtual, moderated space where people with shared experiences can connect each month. PFLAG National’s current communities gather people of Latino, Black/African American, Asian American and Pacific Islander backgrounds—as well as families with gender-diverse loved ones, and grandparents—to gain support, ask questions, and learn from others who have been through similar experiences.

We also host a Military Community meeting, in partnership with our friends at the Modern Military Association of America (MMAA).

Learn more and check out our upcoming meetings for December.
