STTA Live! Being Queer & Neurodiverse

July is Disability Pride Month, which marks the 1990 passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act. It is an opportunity to honor and uplift the stories of people living with a disability, including those who are LGBTQ+.

We're highlighting this past Something to Talk About Live episode where we discussed the intersection of queerness and neurodiversity, the gatekeeping neurodiverse LGBTQ+ people can face in seeking medical care, and the importance of being more inclusive. We welcomed advocates Lydia X. Z. Brown and Kayley Whalen to this conversation.

Calling All Grandparents of LGBTQ+ Grandkids!

Tonight is the night! Our first PFLAG Connects: Grandparent Community meeting will take place for one hour on the last Monday of each month, at 8pm ET/5pm PT, beginning TONIGHT Monday, July 29th.

As with all PFLAG support groups, there are no dues, fees, or membership required to join. For the PFLAG Connects: Grandparent Community meeting, anyone who is a grandparent of an LGBTQ+ person is welcome to attend. We’re also excited to share that this meeting will include a Gender Spectrum Breakout Room especially for grandparents of transgender and gender-diverse grandkids. 

As always, the only requirement is to register in advance so that we can provide an even higher level of safety and support to attendees. Register now, and then get ready to join us on Monday, July 29th!

PFLAG Connects: Communities August Meetings

PFLAG Connects: Communities (PCC) provide a safe, virtual, moderated space where people with shared experiences can connect each month. PFLAG National’s current communities gather people of Latino, Black/African American, Asian American and Pacific Islander backgrounds—as well as families with gender-diverse loved ones, and grandparents—to gain support, ask questions, and learn from others who have been through similar experiences. 

We also host a Military Community meeting, in partnership with our friends at the Modern Military Association of America (MMAA).
