STTA Live!  March is Bisexual+ Health Month

March marks Bisexual+ Health Awareness Month annually. While we see immense disparities in healthcare for bisexual+ individuals, we also see opportunities for progress in the medical field for providers and allies.

Join us this Thursday, March 23 at 4:30 PM ET / 1:30 PM PT for Something to Talk About Live where we will be discussing “To disclose or not to disclose: Inside the push for bisexual-affirming medical care“, by Clare Mulroy which appeared on the Medical XPress website. We’re excited to welcome Mackenzie Harte, the Learning & Inclusion Coordinator at PFLAG National and Helen Parshall, a Board Member At-Large at the Bisexual Resource Center, to the conversation!

Join us this Thursday, March 23rd for Something to Talk About Live!

PFLAG Connects: Communities - April Meetings

PFLAG Connects: Communities (PCC) provide a safe, virtual, moderated space where people with shared experiences can connect each month. PFLAG National’s current communities gather people of Latino, Black/African American, and Asian American and Pacific Islander backgrounds to gain support, ask questions, and learn from others who have been through similar experiences.

We also host a Military Community meeting, in partnership with our friends at the Modern Military Association of America (MMAA).

Learn more and check out our upcoming meetings for April!

Next Monday! The #ReadWithLove Book Club is Coming on March 27th

PFLAG would like to introduce you to a book club experience: the PFLAG #ReadWithLove Book Club, where you'll read alongside a group of dedicated bookworms eager to devour titles written by LGBTQ+ authors.

And even better? We’re partnering with our friends at ShopQueer.co, an independent bookshop that splits its profits with queer authors, doubling their income from the sale of a book.

First up? Arvin Ahmadi’s How It All Blew Up, an incisive look at identity and what it means to find yourself by running away. We'll be joined by author Arvin Ahmadi for our meeting!

Sign up now at pflag.org/rwl-bookclubWe can't wait to read with you and #ReadWithLove!

Straight for Equality: New look, fantastic ally education content

Along with PFLAG National's new look and feel, our Straight for Equality program has also gotten a makeover!

Straight for Equality is our program that empowers new allies who don’t necessarily have a family connection to the LGBTQ+ community.

If you’re one of the roughly 8 in 10 people who can say, “I have an LGBTQ+ friend (or coworker, or acquaintance)” Straight for Equality is for you.

Head on over to straightforequality.org to find fantastic resources, to keep your ally learning going!
