Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service

Today we rightly honor Dr. King’s legacy and leadership—but he would say he did not act alone. Regular folks from across the country united in the face of unrelenting discrimination and hatred.

Today, on this National Day of Service, commit to courageous love and fearless action. Channel the spirit and power of Dr. King, of Bayard Rustin, of the civil rights and other powerful movements for justice and equity. Commit to the hard work that is needed for our communities. Remember that above all else, our Love will always be louder.

To quote Dr. King, “Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Calling Dads of LGBTQ+ Kids of All Ages!

We are excited to announce the launch of the new PFLAG Connects: Dad Community, part of our PFLAG Connects: Communities. PFLAG Connects: Communities provides safe, virtual, moderated spaces where people with shared experiences can connect each month.

Meetings will take place for one hour on the third Tuesday of each month, at 8pm ET/5pm PT, beginning Tuesday, February 18.

As with all PFLAG support groups, there are no dues, fees, or membership required to join. For the PFLAG Connects: Dad Community meeting, anyone who is a dad of an LGBTQ+ person is welcome to attend. This meeting will include a breakout room especially for dads of transgender and gender-diverse people

As always, the only requirement is to register in advance so that we can provide an even higher level of safety and support to attendees. Register now, and then get ready to join us on February 18th!

Share Your Story!

We want to hear your ally stories—and share them in the fifth edition of The Guide to Being an Ally to LGBTQ+ People (formerly the guide to being a straight ally). Are you someone who is LGBTQ+ who has allies that have made a difference in your life? Are you an active and engaged ally to people who are LGBTQ? Are you the parent or family member of an LGBTQ+ person? We want to hear from you!

By sharing your personal stories of allyship, you will make a transformative difference in the lives of LGBTQ+ people, and help positively change the conversation about LGBTQ+ experiences.

Ready to share? Tell us your story. The deadline to share is Friday, February 14th.
