Dear Chapter Leader,

With Pride month in the rearview for many of our chapters, we hope that those who’ve celebrated took some time to rest and restore last week, as our staff had the opportunity to do. But now we’re back to work and gearing up to support the continued ongoing Pride events that happen well beyond the month of June, as well as the launch of a new PFLAG Connects: Communities meeting (see below).

Continue staying safe—don’t forget our chapter safety guidelines for in-person events—as you let your love take Pride, all year round.

Thank you for all that you do,

Jamie Curtis (she/her)
Vice President, Chapter & Communities Engagement

Calling All Grandparents: A PCC Meeting Just For You!

We are excited to announce the launch of a new meeting in our PFLAG Connects: Communities (PCC) program: the PFLAG Connects: Grandparent Community. PCC provides safe, virtual, moderated spaces where people with shared experiences can connect each month. PFLAG National’s communities gather people to gain support, ask questions, and learn from others—and that’s exactly what this new community will do.

Our meetings will take place for 60 minutes on the last Monday of each month, at 8pm ET/5pm PT, beginning Monday, July 29th.

As with all PFLAG support groups, there are no dues, fees, or membership required to join. For the PFLAG Connects: Grandparent Community meeting, anyone who is a grandparent of an LGBTQ+ person is welcome to attend. We’re also excited to share that this meeting will include a Gender Spectrum Breakout Room especially for grandparents of transgender and gender-diverse grandkids

As always, the only requirement is to register in advance so that we can provide an even higher level of safety and support to attendees. Register now, and then get ready to join us on Monday, July 29th!

PFLAG Academy Online: July 2024

Thursday, July 25, 2024 | 8:30pm ET/5:30pm PT: Sharing Your PFLAG Story to Create Change

Knowing how to shape and effectively tell our PFLAG stories to create real and lasting change is a skill that separates the talkers from the activists and advocates. And as many of us are trying to encourage friends and families to head to the polls and vote for equality-minded candidates this November, that skill is more important than ever. This highly interactive – 75 minute – session will encourage participants to pick a personal experience and develop it into an engaging, must-hear narrative that can help GOTV in their communities!
