| Dear Chapter Leader, Yesterday was a day of service in the honor and spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. However, there is no escaping the realities of the other events that took place. While the Executive Orders were fast, furious and undeniably angering and frightening, it’s important to remember that few executive orders change policy immediately, nor can they immediately change regulations nor the law as established through statutes and the courts; litigation is sure to follow and, in some cases, is already being prepared. Remember: No one’s validity is dictated by an Executive Order. If you did not read our CEO Brian Bond’s message from last Thursday, please take a moment to do that right now. It was and is a reminder that our love IS louder, and we will prevail. To do this work, don’t forget the resources Brian shared last week, and remember we have password-protected Chapter Leader Resources that are available to you through the member portal. You can also check out resources from our partners, including A4TE’s Trans Legal Survival Guide, HRC’s Facing the Future FAQ, and legal resources and updates from the ACLU. I also want to share with you our new issue of The PFLAG Banner, released yesterday. It’s a reminder that PFLAG is here, NOW and always, and our work must continue. As PFLAG leaders, you and your chapter are the resource your community needs right now. Continue providing a soft place to land for your members and community when they need support and a safe space of belonging. Being present and there for people is important when answers or solutions are in short supply. Continue being that loud voice of resistance, protest, and action when the moment warrants. And at a time when kindness and respect are in short supply, lean into our PFLAG mission, vision, and values as much as you can. | | Calling All Dads: A PCC Meeting Just For You! |
| We are excited to announce the launch of a new meeting in our PFLAG Connects: Communities (PCC) program: the PFLAG Connects: Dad Community. PCC provides safe, virtual, moderated spaces where people with shared experiences can connect each month. PFLAG National’s communities gather people to gain support, ask questions, and learn from others—and that’s exactly what this new community will do. Our meetings will take place for one hour on the third Tuesday of each month, at 8pm ET/5pm PT, beginning Tuesday, February 18. As with all PFLAG support groups, there are no dues, fees, or membership required to join. For the PFLAG Connects: Dad Community meeting, anyone who is a dad of an LGBTQ+ person is welcome to attend. We’re also excited to share that this meeting will include a breakout room especially for dads of transgender and gender-diverse people. As always, the only requirement is to register in advance so that we can provide an even higher level of safety and support to attendees. Register now, and then get ready to join us on February 18th! |

| Tuesday, February 25, 2025 | 8:30pm ET/5:30pm PT: Be Kind, Not Just Nice: Transforming Your Conversations We all know the phrase "if you're not going to say something nice, then don't say anything at all." But what do we do when others don't follow that rule? What about when unkindness impacts people and communities we care about, including our LGBTQ+ loved ones? What do we do when being kind means speaking up and not being so nice? Join the PFLAG National team to learn some of the skills you need to transform your conversations and stand by what you believe in without becoming unkind yourself. Register today!
