| Dear PFLAG Supporter, As your chapter’s calendar year starts to fill, it becomes clearer and clearer that chapter leaders can’t be everywhere all at once (although you try)! Part of our work at PFLAG National is supplying you with resources to fill the gaps, so this week we wanted to share a bit more about PFLAG Connects: Communities. Think of PFLAG Connects: Communities as sibling chapters who you can refer to when folks need more specific support that your chapter doesn’t offer. Find out more below! In this newsletter you’ll find: - PFLAG Connects: Communities Information
- Urban Think Tank Alert
- In Case You Missed It (ICYMI) Recap
- Resilience Roundup: Weather Safety and PFLAG Connects: Communities Resources

| Just a friendly reminder regarding PFLAG Connects: Communities, a wonderful resource available to all chapter members! | - We are seeking board recruitment and retention input from you to help us develop chapter-informed resources to support chapters across the network with their board recruitment and retention efforts. Can you spend five minutes filling out this survey to share your experiences and stories by Thursday April 3rd, 2025?
- PFLAG’s Strategic Refresh process is ongoing! Your input is crucial in helping us strengthen PFLAG for the years ahead. Through a series of surveys and other tools, we—along with our consultants at Penchina Partners—aim to gather valuable feedback from our PFLAG community – including you and your chapter’s members! If you are interested in providing your input on what you think about PFLAG and how we should strengthen ourselves for the future, we have this survey for you! We’re requesting responses by Friday April 4th, 2025.
- Pride Packs 2025 -The branding team has created a PFLAG Chapter Leader-Only Swag Shop at chapterswag.pflag.org, where you can order buttons, pens, shirts, stickers, fans, and Pride flags in bulk and at a larger discount than our public-facing shop. But here’s the BEST part: We’re giving every chapter $200 to spend on the items of your choice; this will require your chapter ID provided without dashes. Then, you’ll get an additional 50% off further orders between now and June 30, 2025. Check out this email for more details.

| | | My heart goes out to everyone who experienced the storms throughout the Midwest and South this weekend. I know some of you are doing the difficult work of repairing and rebuilding right now; if there’s anything I can do to support your chapter in light of that, please reach out. This is a good and important time to revisit safety information. Check out the National Weather Service’s Tornado Safety Guide here and the Red Cross’ Tornado Safety Tips here. While identifying opportunities to show up and support everyone in our communities, it’s probably good to know about the resources you have access to as chapter and community leaders. PFLAG National provides advertising materials for our PFLAG Connects: Communities meetings, which are available in the chapter leader portal. We also have publications available in Spanish and for some affinity groups including Grandparents and Military families. They are always accessible for free in digital format in our publications portal on the website or from our bookstore at a 50% discount with the code chapterleader. In addition to PFLAG National resources, there are other resources available from a variety of organizations like Family Acceptance Project's posters (coming out acceptance information available in eleven languages), and NQAPIA’s Family is Still Family videos and resources, created in partnership with PFLAG. Consider reaching out to community partners in your area to see what other resources might be available to your chapter. If you find anything that you think could be useful to other chapters, please let me know! |
