Dear PFLAG Supporter, As we reach the end of 2023, it’s important to take time to reflect on the successes of the past year. At PFLAG National, we are proud of so many accomplishments! - We introduced new branding, providing two rounds of free Pride Packs—including personalized banners and table runners—and Canva to chapters to assist with the rebranding effort, plus hold ongoing virtual office hours to support your branding and media questions.
- Learning With Love: The 2023 PFLAG National Convention took place in Washington DC. We were thrilled to see so many of your smiling faces there. Missed the convention? Check out the recordings of the plenaries!
- We just launched the National Member portal, providing an easy-to-navigate, one-stop shop for you to access resources, manage memberships, update information, and pay dues. Haven’t logged in yet?

Thank you for your support in bringing your chapter up-to-date and thus making these projects a success! It’s easy to always focus on the next project. Take a moment to reflect on what your chapter did and share that with your community. This could be a new initiative you started, or an event you attended. Small accomplishments are important, too! Maybe you made a change to your board that you’re excited about or made something you’re already doing just a bit better. Taking a moment to reflect allows you to celebrate what you’ve done so you can look forward to what you want to do next. |

Looking back over my first year with PFLAG, I am so proud of all of my Midwestern Region chapters! There has been a ton of growth, change, and meaningful moments shared in each of your communities. You should feel proud of all that you have accomplished! At a recent Central Region call, I was proud to hear about the recent events PFLAG Lawrence hosted. They worked with local LGBTQ+ organizations to come together to host a Trans Day of Remembrance event. In the past, TDOR events in Lawrence had been scattered across the city. This year, PFLAG Lawrence focused on coalition building with 6 other organizations and brought more than 50 people together to hold vigil for those lost in the past year. After that, they hosted a Friendsgiving event with more than 15 attendees where they shared dinner, played games, and also donated meals back to community members in need. With just over a year under their belt, it’s great to see a chapter making strong community connections! Did you chapter accomplish something you’re extra proud of in 2023? Let me know! Reach out at rward@pflag.org. |
