Dear PFLAG Supporter,

In all honesty, we had a different email planned to send you all this week. It had great content and resources (that will come out later!), but we felt like we needed to take a collective deep breath after what has felt like a year crammed into two weeks. It’s easy to say things like “unprecedented times” and “the new normal,” but it’s another thing to live through it. We’re feeling so many things: exhaustion, hope, anxiety, fear, curiosity. What are you feeling?

We don’t know what happens next, but there are some things we do know. PFLAG will be relevant and necessary no matter the outcome this November. Our families will still need us, and we’ll still need them. The communities we’re building right now will still be our sources for support, education, hope, and strength.

There’s more to come on PFLAG Votes, some really cool plans for the next year, and many more toolkits and templates. If you’re the sort of person who processes by getting into the work, we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled programming soon. But we wanted to take a moment to make some space for how incredible and massive these last few weeks have been; we see it and we see you.

Regional Resilience Roundup

While many of us are feeling stress and uncertainty around the election, it’s important to remember that we have the power to make choices that promote wellbeing and resilience in our communities and personal lives.  Remember to take time to center well-being and activities that build support and resilience like the strategies suggested in this article from NPR.

As we move closer to the election, I’ll be highlighting more resources related to self care, resiliency, and power building to help you take care and maintain healthy boundaries moving forward.

Stay safe,

Ruadhan Ward (They / Them)
