Dear PFLAG Supporter, As we reach the end of 2023, it’s important to take time to reflect on the successes of the past year. At PFLAG National, we are proud of so many accomplishments! - We introduced new branding, providing two rounds of free Pride Packs—including personalized banners and table runners—and Canva to chapters to assist with the rebranding effort, plus hold ongoing virtual office hours to support your branding and media questions.
- Learning With Love: The 2023 PFLAG National Convention took place in Washington DC. We were thrilled to see so many of your smiling faces there. Missed the convention? Check out the recordings of the plenaries!
- We just launched the National Member portal, providing an easy-to-navigate, one-stop shop for you to access resources, manage memberships, update information, and pay dues. Haven’t logged in yet?

Thank you for your support in bringing your chapter up-to-date and thus making these projects a success! It’s easy to always focus on the next project. Take a moment to reflect on what your chapter did and share that with your community. This could be a new initiative you started, or an event you attended. Small accomplishments are important, too! Maybe you made a change to your board that you’re excited about or made something you’re already doing just a bit better. Taking a moment to reflect allows you to celebrate what you’ve done so you can look forward to what you want to do next. |

2023 has been quite the year for chapters across the Eastern Region! I want to take some time to celebrate the great work across our region over the past year. PFLAG Hartford celebrated their anniversary this year, coinciding with PFLAG's 50th! The event brought together friends, supporters, and leaders who have been part of the chapter's rich history. In one room, they marked decades of progress with a celebration. It was a chance to reminisce about past times and share significant personal memories from the chapter's journey. Naturally, this gathering also sparked conversations about the future of PFLAG in Hartford and beyond. PFLAG Woodstock VA is a relatively new chapter that joined the PFLAG Chapter Network in Spring 2022. On the first Friday of December, for the second year, they participated in the local holiday parade, a vibrant event hosted by the town and the local chamber of commerce. Adorned with rainbow lights and unicorns, PFLAG Woodstock and a cheerful group of about twenty supporters brightened the night. The chapter is dedicated to growing through various community outreach efforts, support meetings, and embracing every opportunity to spread love in their small town. I’d love to know what your chapter is celebrating as we bring 2023 to a close! Please reach out and let me know at sconnors@pflag.org. |
