| | One Hour A Week to Branding Success In last week’s issue of Leadership Matters we continued the One Hour A Week to Branding Success series; this seven-week strategy to do low-lift branding tasks that will take no more than an hour of your time. Last week’s task focused on creating and downloading your chapter’s new logo to help you prepare for this week’s task! Week 4: Update your social media profile pictures with your new logo This week, we’ll use the information you found when you did your search in week 1—and the logo you downloaded in week 3—to update your social media profiles. We recommend using your teal-colored logo with either a transparent background or one of the secondary palette color backgrounds. **Please note: Your logos should be the ONLY thing included in your profile images; this real estate is very small, so you’ll want the most room available for your logo to be seen. - Locate the logo you created in week 3.
- Visit each social media platform where you have a profile. Refer to your spreadsheet or list from week 1.
- Upload your new profile image on all accounts, using the following tutorials, if needed:
- Facebook
- Instagram
- Twitter
- TikTok
Did you complete this task? SUCCESS! You’re done for the week. Extra credit: Create a new header image Along with profile images, headers are a great way to show cohesive branding and have some rotating, timely messaging on your social media profiles. If you’ve got some extra time, consider creating new headers for your chapter’s social media pages on canva. |
| | Regional Roundup: Things to Know About Canva Canva provides various design tools to create digital designs for different purposes. Did you know that you can utilize Canva printing services through a third-party printing service? Once you're happy with your design, download it in the recommended file format for printing. Canva offers several file formats that are compatible with most printing services, including PDF, PNG, and JPEG. There are many printing services available online that offer a wide range of printing options. Remember to always review your design carefully before sending it to the printer. Make sure to review the specifications and requirements for the printing service you choose. Check for errors and ensure that all the design elements are aligned correctly. We’ve seen many chapters utilizing our PFLAG Canva Team to create amazing social media posts, flyers, business cards, and more! We’ve also heard feedback about how the design elements and templates can be hard to find. We’ve made some updates to the Brand Kit in Canva to make it easier to find what you’re looking for. To quickly find templates, design elements, icons, and photos, click on “Brand Hub” in the menu on the left side of the page when you’re inside the Canva design interface.
