Dear PFLAG Supporter,

It’s nearly the end of the fiscal year, which means the next Annual Responsibilities season will be here before you know it! I want to be sure you know how much your reporting impacts and informs the entire PFLAG Chapter Network.

In this week’s issue of Leadership Learnings, we’ll take a moment to reflect on the FY24 Annual Chapter Report. It’s an interesting look into the life of the PFLAG Chapter Network and speaks to what we can all learn from the information you submit. You can do this as a chapter too! Don’t forget to reflect on what you all have accomplished in the last year; your annual meeting is the perfect place to do so.

In this edition of Leadership Learnings you’ll find:

  • FY24 Annual Chapter Report Briefing
  • PFLAG Connects: Communities updates
  • ICYMI Recap
  • Regional Roundup: Regional Meetings at Learning With Love

FY24 Annual Chapter Report Briefing

In 2023 we added more questions to the Chapter Annual Report to learn more about what chapter leaders need from PFLAG National to effectively run their chapters. Last year's FY24 report provided us with some incredible information!

Based on that feedback and other touchpoints with you throughout the year, in FY25 the Chapter & Communities Engagement Team developed many resources, worked to reorganize the chapter leader web portal, and made this newsletter stronger.

A few highlights of the data we got from the FY24 report include:

  • 74% of chapters completed the FY24 Annual Report, the highest number in the past five years!
  • Chapters offering meetings in person or by hybrid format make an average of 195% more income than chapters offering virtual-only options.
  • Chapters who submit their annual reports on a timely basis, year over year, report higher levels of income, membership, engagement, and programming overall.
  • Chapters reported an average of 57% more engagement after the 2024 Election, including more focus on advocacy and directed support spaces.

Thank you for taking the time to prioritize this work; we’re looking forward to learning more about the work you did in FY25, and how we can use it to ensure you are getting the tools, resources, and support you need.

PFLAG Connects: Communities Updates

Wondering how to strengthen your chapter’s DEIA efforts? Consider sharing info and resources about PFLAG Connects: Communities, a program that provides inclusive virtual meeting spaces for folks with shared backgrounds and similar lived experiences. A few highlights:

  • Download and share the PFLAG Connects: Communities program flyers, available for the overall program and for each individual community.
  • The PFLAG Connects: Asian American, Native Hawaiian, & Pacific Islander Community meetings will now meet every last Tuesday of the month from 6:00 - 7:00pm PT/9:00 - 10:00pm ET.
  • Consider sharing resources from our meetings. You’ll find them on each community landing page under the ‘Meeting Resources’ tab.

Resilience Roundup

If you’re planning on attending Learning with Love: The 2025 PFLAG National Convention in October, please consider attending your region’s meeting on Friday, October 10 at 2pm CT. It’s rare that we all have the opportunity to gather together in person with other leaders from across the entire region. Regional meetings are a great place to learn from each other, chat about what workshops you are attending, or even make some dinner plans with folks! If you have more questions about this meeting, contact your Regional Director and/or me.

Stay safe,
