According to the Gun Violence Archive (GVA), there were 648 mass shootings (defined as any incident where four or more people, not including the shooter, were injured or killed) in the United States in 2022. In January alone, 2023 GVA recorded 52 mass shootings.
While the gun violence that people have experienced has an impact on everyone in a community, for some groups -- including the LGBTQ+ community -- the threat of violence has become even more pronounced and frightening.
In an effort to help prepare our chapter members to know how to respond should they encounter an incident in their work, PFLAG National will be hosting an interactive, virtual ALICE Active Shooter Response Training for PFLAG staff, board members, regional directors, chapter leaders, and chapter members in partnership with Navigate 360.
